Primary Purpose of Position

The University of North Carolina at Pembroke (UNCP) is seeking an adjunct instructor for introductory physics labs beginning January 9, 2017. The labs consist of a two-semester algebra based sequence (PHY 1560 & PHY 1570) in addition to a two semester calculus based sequence (PHY 2060 & PHY 2070). The associated physics courses cover Newtonian mechanics for part I classes and electricity & magnetism and optics for part II classes. Part I and Part II classes are both taught in Fall and Spring semester.

Job Description

The adjunct physics lab instructor will conduct six 2 hour sections per week. This includes five algebra based labs and one calculus based lab. Duties include grading and lab set-up. The instructor will work closely with UNCP physics faculty to revise and further develop the current instructional lab curriculum.

Management Preference

Prior experience teaching in higher education preferred.
