Required experience and skills:

• A minimum of a Master’s Degree and a minimum of five years experience as a Registrar, Assistant, or Associate Registrar.
ERP experience.
• Demonstrated experience in supervising and leading a full-time staff.
• Demonstrated experience in managing operating budgets in support of all records, registration, and commencement functions.

Office of the Registrar

Primary Purpose of Position

The mission of the Office of the Registrar is to assist students in meeting their
educational goals; to maintain accurate, permanent, confidential records; and
to administer University policies and procedures. The office also provides the following services to students: registration, advising, transcripts, drop/add, withdrawing, readmitting, enrollment verification, graduation, grade appeals, transfer credits, overloads, and probation/suspension. Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment, the position also provides oversight for Academic Policies and Procedures.

Job Description

The University Registrar has responsibility for maintaining the integrity of academic and student information by implementing academic policies and procedures, adapting operations to academic needs, and evaluating administrative processes to identify opportunities for improvement.

With the support of the Associate Registrar, the Registrar takes leadership in managing the student information system (Ellucian Banner) and in providing innovative technology to facilitate the timely, accurate and efficient delivery of services to faculty, staff, and both face-to-face and distance students.

The University Registrar is responsible for student records, FERPA compliance, registration, readmission, report generation, course and classroom scheduling, the semester bulletin, transfer articulations, honors and chancellor’s lists, degree audits, transcript distribution, immunization reports, graduation clearance, commencement planning, diploma distribution, and athletic certification.

Primary responsibilities include budget and process development, and involvement in collaborative efforts that foster the mission of the university as well as the offering of responsive services, including service on university-wide committees.

Management Preference

Preferred experience and skills:

• Exceptional knowledge of all appropriate federal and state laws, and mandates related to students and academic information (e.g., FERPA, NCAA, and ADA).
• Strong technical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Experience with Ellucian Banner.
• Ability to provide leadership in the management, security, and storage of academic records; registration; classroom and course scheduling; transfer articulation, including those related to international agreements; degree audits; and student academic support.
• Ability to provide collaborative leadership with faculty, staff, students, and the administration to implement policy.
• Ability to be customer and solutions oriented with a commitment to raising the bar on customer service while maintaining compliance with policies.
• Demonstrated record of accuracy in maintenance of records and adherence to university policy.
