Job Description

The Department of Political Science and Public Administration at the University of North Carolina, Pembroke seeks an assistant professor of public administration with a concentration in health administration. This position will primarily be teaching in the Master of Public Administration program
and with the main responsibility of providing courses for the health concentration as part of our MPA degree program. Some undergraduate teaching may be required on an as-needed basis. Courses are regularly taught in the online format, but successful candidates should expect on campus courses to be part of their rotation.
Preference will be given to candidates that can also teach human resources for
public administrators and to those interested in studying rural health administration or issues in rural health policy. Successful candidates must show excellence in both online teaching as well as in the classroom. In addition to strong teaching, the department is seeking an individual who is interested in being an active member of the department and has career aspiration of becoming a program director in the future.

UNCP is a regional university serving rural North Carolina that emphasizes excellence in teaching. The teaching load for this position is a 3-3. The Master of Public Administration program at UNCP is targeted to developing skills, research capabilities, and knowledge in working professionals within our community and across North Carolina, and as well as across the United States and abroad through our online program.

Management Preference

Candidate who can teach both online and in person is needed.

Ability to teach Human Resources is preferred.
